Max’s Forecast: High fire danger looms

In fewer than 24 hours, the Red Flag Warning takes effect for inland and mountain neighborhoods, triggering a significant increase in fire danger during that window.
The warning has been issued from 10 a.m. Monday through 4 a.m. Wednesday. Winds don’t truly pick up until late Monday afternoon, but once they arrive, they will only get stronger.
Winds will be most intense on Tuesday, with some areas seeing gusts around 60 mph, paired with extremely low humidity levels.
Those conditions could affect power lines, which is why San Diego Gas & Electric warned it might need to shut off power in affected areas while the warning is in place. You can see if you’re one of the 117,000+ impacted customers by looking at
on their website.
By Wednesday afternoon, the winds ease up and we begin to see onshore flow re-emerging.
A heads up for coastal communities overnight Sunday and into Monday morning — patchy fog could reduce visibility in some areas to less than a mile.
